Tequila Cabresto is a spirit born in a traditional method that sets a unique benchmark for ultra premium tequila; hand crafted from 100% blue agave born in the highland region of Jalisco where sun, earth and knowledge yield the finest “pinas” available. Selected for their high sugar yield, these plants are carefully hand selected and grown in a specific method in order to produce the finest agave juice possible. Distilled in limited patches using the“Process Originale“, Cabresto Tequila represents a new standard in ultra premium tequila. Tequila has always been one of my favorite ways to let loose. There is nothing like the silly buzz that I get from a night of margaritas or tequila shots. I have been known to utter the phrase “tequila makes me bad” after a night of shooting it back and I always seem to go back for more. I can’t say that I have ever had a preference over which tequila I was drinking, until I found one that was inexpensive and tasted great. Rock City Eatery in Hamtramck has been having Margarita Tuesdays and I recently went to dinner there and discovered the awesomeness that is Cabresto, the tequila that they were using in their drinks. Cabresto also sponsored this past Friday’s Detroit Music Awards. The event featured cocktails made with Sprite, pineapple juice, and lemonade. This stuff seems to mix well with whatever juice they add to it. We talked to Mike from Cabresto to find out more about the brand. Tequila must be made in a certain area of Mexico to be called tequila. More specifically, in the Tequilera region of Los Altos de Jalisco. There, the sun, earth, and tequila-making knowledge produce the world’s best “pinas.” In these fields, Cabresto workers handpick the finest, 100 percent blue agave. And from those plants, through a “process original,” the tequila made represents a new standard among ultra premium liquors of its kind.

Selected for their high sugar yield, these Agaves are carefully hand-selected and grown in a specific method to produce the finest Agave juice possible. Distilled in limited batches using the “Process Originale”, Cabresto Tequila represents a new standard in ultra premium tequila.

Cabresto tequilas were founded on the basis of a return to traditional tequila-making.
It is harvested from fully matured Blue Weber Agave where great care and oversight is taken for their growth and selection. The name is translated as “bridle” implied for use only for elite horses; the tequila is meant to pay homage to the pioneering spirit of Mexico. Cabresto Reposado is aged in American White Oak for 6 months prior to bottling, giving a light color and depth to the normally crystal clear tequila. It is said to have ” hints of honey and herbs, and “a slightly smoky finish.” They recommend drinking in a snifter similar to a cognac or bourbon.
