Amelia Park

We believe fine wines come from a rich blend of time-honoured method and modern technique. Craft: Winemaking is our passion. Each wine is hand-crafted and captures the essence of the fruit. Quality: Quality is at the heart of everything we do. We focus on the essential, and keep only the exceptional. At Amelia Park Wines, we produce fine wines from one of Western Australia’s most renowned winemaking regions, Margaret River. We combine leading edge techniques with traditional winemaking values and practices. Winemaker Jeremy Gordon believes that success starts with the vine, and he works closely with a select group of premium vineyards to achieve superior and consistent fruit quality. The resulting wines are elegant, fruit-driven varietals, complex in structure yet easily and irresistibly enjoyable.

Amelia Park Shiraz 2011

Amelia Park Wines Tasting Note
The grapes where harvested during the cool of the night to ensure quality was maintained. A cool fermentation took place in static fermenters and gentle extraction of colour and flavour was achieved over a two week period. After primary ferment the wine was gently pressed off skins to a mix of new and older larger format French oak barrels. After 12 months maturation in barrel the wine was blended prior to bottling.

Dan Murphys Tasting Note
Young guns in the Margaret River scene, Amelia Park actually source their fruit for the Shiraz from Frankland River in the Great Southern wine region. This allows them to produce a Shiraz that has all the fruit hallmarks of Shiraz with a fine structure made famous by region. Lusciously ripe along with an ethereal length, Amelia Park Shiraz ticks all the boxes.

Wine Boss Tasting Note
Rated 5 Red Star Winery James Halliday’s Wine Companion 2014. This award confirms Amelia Park on the list of the best wineries in the Margaret River region. Amelia Park is dedicated to producing fine wines of the highest quality that capture the essence of Margaret River, combining leading edge techniques with traditional winemaking values and practices. Winemaker Jeremy Gordon believes his success lies in a hands-on approach to every step of the process, attention to detail and an unquenchable passion for making consistently outstanding wines. This philosophy has seen Jeremy receive numerous awards throughout his career including Australia’s most coveted award, the Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy. The wines of Amelia Park have been quick to make their mark, winning trophies at he Decanter World Wine Awards, the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition, the National Wine Show of Australia, the Margaret River Wine Show and the Winewise Championships.

Cracka Wines Tasting Note
Amelia Park source grapes from various W.A wine regions, and in this instance they have gone to the Frankland River. This is quite a rich, almost chocolaty style of shiraz that shows ripe dark berries and cherries on the nose, along with some pepper spice and mocha. The palate is full-bodied and sweetly-fruited, with a nice core of spiced plums, slinky tannins, and a sultry finish with a bit of tightness to it. This will improve further in the cellar, or you can decant it tonight and serve with some beef wellington.
