Watershed Senses Shiraz 2012
Watershed Tasting Note
The 2012 Senses Shiraz displays complex aromas of mulberries, dark plums and liquorice with hints of coffee, spice and dark chocolate. On the palate the dense velvety texture is complemented by cinnamon spice and mocha notes resulting from 18 months maturation in barrels. The rich fruit flavours and fine silky tannins mean that this wine can be enjoyed now or with careful cellaring will develop for the next 6 – 8 years.
Wine Linx Tasting Note
Spicy and slightly savoury Margaret River shiraz. Provides a distinct point of departure to the fleshier shiraz from the Great Southern. Its slightly gravelly tannins and substantial oak support a more angular palate profile. Lots of cherry and coffee chocolate flavours with a dry earthiness to finish. Impressively complex and interesting. Ray Jordan – 93/100 Points
Wine Companion Tasting Note
Matured for 18 months in French and American oak. Bright crimson-purple; a vibrant and fresh Shiraz, red fruits, black fruits, fine spice and even finer tannins dancing with abandon in the mouth. Didn’t needs its gold medal at the Cowra Wine Show ’14 to push its claims – just lovely stuff. 95 Points- James Halliday, Wine Companion 2016.
Wine Front Tasting Note
Matured in French and American oak and the influence is clear. It’s also, clearly, an excellent wine. It seduces up-front but continues to impress all the way through to a lingering finish. Cherry-plum, malt, kirsch and chocolate flavours, all perfectly balanced, integrated and ironed smooth. Rated: 94 Points, Tasted: May15
